New team, new bike, same challenge. After a disastrous 2016 I’m looking forward to getting 2017 under way.
I barely had a moment to sit on the BMW before it went off to JDR to have a strip down. A complete nut and bolt check-over was first on the cards to ensure everything was torqued properly. You never know the complete history of a pre-owned purchase.
Whilst she’s still looking quite bare, the bodywork (supplied by Pro-Fibre UK) has been sent off to be dressed in the JDR silhouette. We’ve added GB Racing’s frame sliders to help protect the bike in-case of a spill and R&G covers for the radiator and oil cooler.
Aside from bolting bits back onto the bike, we are just waiting for the suspension to come back from Maxton with my GP30 Cartridges and GP10 Shock. Then it’s just a case of building her back up and she’s ready for our first test of 2017 at Cartagena, Spain in March.
It’s typical to see a difference in opinion between riders and machine choice but I’ve heard nothing but positives from anyone that has raced the latest S1000RR. It’s going to be an interesting year.
